“획일적인 도시를 더 획일적으로 찍으려 고민하냐구요? 네, 그래요.
사람들은 대개 도시에 대해서 말을 할 때 공장에서 찍어낸 것처럼 똑같은 것들에 대한 불만을 말하지만, 그러나 전 그렇게 생각지 않아요. 어떤 환경이든 그것을 만들어가는 사람들이 바꿔가는 것이라고 생각하거든요. 삭막한 건물들을 삭막하게 만드는 것은 그 곳에 사람의 흔적이 없기 때문입니다.
획일한 공간이라도 그곳에 사람들이 살면서 각기 다른 삶의 공간을 만들어갑니다. 그리고 그 곳은 이제 이전과는 분명 다른 공간이 됩니다. 그래서 처음엔 삭막했을지 몰라도 사람들이 살아가면서 재미를 만들어놓은, 살아있는 공간이 되었다는 것을 보여주고 싶었습니다.
그래서 전 사람들이 만들어놓은 생동감을 극대화시키기 위해, 오히려 선과 면이 만들어내는 기하학적 공간을 부각하기 위해 노력합니다.”

I am considering to take pictures in more uniform way even though it already contains uniform city. when people talk about city, they complain that it looks like a matchbox that came out from the factory. But I disagree on that. People who live there makes the shape of the environment. The buildings are desolate because there are no shadows of people. I assume that even in a uniform space, people makes different living space by making their own lives. And that changes the pictures of the space. I want to show through my pictures that even though it was desolate at first place, people have brought funs and lives altogether and that changed the features of the space. This is the reason why I would like to show the geometric lines and planes in order to maximize the liveliness of the people.
